In preschool we give the children a safe and secure base. We believe in the competent child and strive to get children to think for themselves.

As our children are or will become multilingual, we work with languages as a common thread through all our activities.

Preschool lays the foundation for lifelong learning. We offer children an educational activity in which wellbeing, care, nurturing and learning together form a whole. We strive to work in such a way that children are stimulated, challenged to learn and develop. In our daily activities we promote free play, creativity and joyful learning. We work towards safeguarding the child’s own interest in learning and gaining new experiences, knowledge and skills.

Play is an important part of a child’s development and learning and we use this consciously in our activities.Children learn and process events through play. In play, children practise their social skills, learn to take turns and much more.

Circle time in the morning, song and story time, snack and lunch are fixed daily routines. During the day the children are also given time to develop their own plans, imagination and creativity, both indoors and outdoors. We spend time outside every day regardless of weather!

Over the school year we work with various themes. We have creative activities such as drama, baking, arts and craft at each child’s own level. The children have music twice a week with the school’s music teachers. Gross motor activities such as sports and games are also prominent features and, when we can, we take the opportunity to use the school’s gymnasium.
