International Section

 

2-3 year olds: No prior knowledge of English required.

 

Reception: No prior knowledge of English required. Linguistic evaluation may be required. Place offered if the teacher believes that the applicant, with extra tuition in English as recommended, is well positioned to, within one academic year, reach the level required to follow tuition in Year 1.

 

Year 1: Basic knowledge of English required. Linguistic evaluation by pedagogue required. If the applicant is not considered to have the minimum level required for year 1, a place may be offered if the pedagogue believes that the applicant, with extra tuition in English as recommended, is well positioned to, within one academic year, reach the minimum level required to follow regular tuition.

 

Year 2: A good knowledge of English required. Must have completed at least one year in an English speaking school or have equivalent knowledge. If the applicant is not considered to have the minimum level required for year 2, a place may be offered if the pedagogue believes that the applicant, with extra tuition in English as recommended, is well positioned to, within one term, reach the minimum level required to follow regular tuition.

 

Year 3: Very good knowledge of English required. Must have completed at least two years in an English speaking school or have equivalent knowledge. If the applicant is not considered to have the minimum level required for year 3, a place may be offered if the pedagogue believes that the applicant, with extra tuition in English as recommended, is well positioned to, within one term, reach the minimum level required to follow regular tuition

 

Year 4 and up: Very good knowledge of English required. Must have completed at least (grade to which the student applies – 1) years in an English speaking school or have equivalent knowledge. If the applicant is not considered to have the minimum level required for the year to which he/her applies, a place may be offered if the pedagogue believes that the applicant, with extra tuition in English as recommended, is well positioned to, within one term, reach the minimum level required to follow regular tuition

 

In cases where prerequisites in English are not reached, students who otherwise show good potential may be offered a place and enrolled in the English Support programme.
